Bagel Mania

Another flying visit to the west of Scotland metropolis saw me strolling up Sauchiehall Street in search of breakfast. I ran into Bagel Mania so decided to give it a try.

Their breakfast selection seemed a sensible place to start so I opted for bacon and egg on a multiseed bagel. I added an espresso for a mere 90p. These items were quickly knocked together by the smiling counter woman.

The place has an American diner feel to it and this is reflected in the menu which is high on salt beef and massive portion sizes. I took a seat at the window table.

My breakfast was soon with me. The espresso wasn’t good, but I had high hopes for the bagel. It proved a decently tasty eat with profuse bacon and good substance from the egg. The bagel could have used a little more toasting, though, as it was slightly on the chewy side.

So overall, I suspect Bagel Mania’s strengths lie with their salt beef fillings rather than their breakfast selection but they still did a decent job of addressing my morning hunger. I liked the place and the welcome was warm so I’d happily pop back. They have work to do on their coffee, though.
