On a bright and breezy Thursday morning I required a pre-work feed in the western part of the city so headed to Hank’s, a little sandwich shop on Fountainbridge.
I sat down at their window shelf seats after ordering a black pudding roll and an espresso.
Service was chatty and warm throughout with nice attention to detail and genuinely engaging banter. The place has a quirky charm and was definitely shown to best advantage in the golden light of this beautiful morning.
The roll proved to be very good with a plentiful amount of Stornoway’s finest crammed into a delicious fresh roll. It was a highly pleasurable start to the day.
The espresso wasn’t to the same standard but it did pack the required morning jolt.
So overall, I enjoyed my stop at Hank’s. Their breakfast roll was very tasty and the place was lovely. I’d be happy to pay them another visit, next time I’m in their part of town.
