Just outside George Square gardens, home of the Spiegelgarden, there’s a little row of huts. It starts with Cult Coffee, where I popped in after my visit to Pad BKK, the other day, and finishes with Cajun Moon, which is where I lunched, today.
Serving a focussed menu of Tex Mex staples, my healthy veggie option for the day was an avocado and pepper wrap ( £5.50).
They have their ordering system quite neatly arranged, so you make your choice at the front, then move off to the side, where your freshly prepared item is delivered to you, shortly thereafter.
With my wrap in hand, I toddled off down the road, munching as I walked.
The wrap proved to be quite tasty, with a nice citrus zing working well with the avocado. It was a good, manageable eat, too, as the wrap held the ingredients together well, and while there was good wetness from the sour cream and salsa, things never descended in to a gooey mess.
It didn’t, though, really set my pulse racing, and for £5.50, I’m not convinced it represented particularly enticing value.
So if you find yourself with a longing for avocado, which I know some people fairly regularly do, Cajun Moon will serve you nicely, but there are other places nearby that I think offer a little better quality for a more reasonable cost.
