Eleanor’s Questude Verdict
On a sunny Wednesday afternoon I headed to Clerk Street to join Blythe for lunch. A small café, Filament Coffee is sparingly styled, with white walls, long tables and benches, and baskets of fruit and vegetables adding colour to the walls. We sat and chatted over bagels, mine with a thick generous layer of sour cream and tasty fresh oak smoked salmon.
Blythe’s Questude Verdict
Filament
a frequent stop
for fragrant espresso
with flamboyant character.
Today, a smash of avocado
a smear of vegemite
on a smoking good bagel.
Smoked salmon of distinction for Eleanor.
As sun poured in
we spoke of Ben Gunn.
Cheese
toasted, mostly.
Tribute to Stevenson’s bright spark.
Filament threads coffee excellence
with strands of light lunch brightness
for glints of glistening gold.
