City Kebab House

As I said in the review of the rather good Shorty’s, Samsun’s departure from the Fountainbridge premises they occupied for 36 years saw the place split in two. This evening I completed the second half of my consideration of the new businesses with a trip to the City Kebab House which has taken up the reins on the late night takeaway business.

With a greater emphasis on chipshop fare, the place remains largely the same in design and layout and the pizza menu is much as it was before. I was in traditional mood so ordered my favoured pepperoni and mushroom combo.

This was soon with me, delivered by the friendly counter man. I munched as I walked down the road towards home.

It proved decently tasty fare, a little better than my latest visit to Samsun, although perhaps not as good as when it was at the height of its powers. It hit the late night takeout spot pretty nicely, though.

So overall, I enjoyed my trip to the City Kebab House. It probably still has a little bedding in to do, but is starting life in good shape. I dare say I’ll be back for another visit before long.
