It was my second visit to Laura’s Kitchen, this morning, after I’d popped in during their first week of business and found things in a state of considerable chaos.
Service had definitely calmed down, today, and things felt entirely more settled. Warming sunlight was flooding in through the windows of their William Street premises, showing the compact interior to best advantage.
As with my first visit, I was passing at breakfast time. I opted for a bacon and black pudding roll, which was swiftly prepared.
As is often the way, I munched as I ate. The roll was good, but didn’t have much to elevate it towards the memorable. It was just a decent breakfast roll.
This William Street location has proved quite tricky in the past, with Urban West Coffee House not lasting too long. Without something a little bit more compellingly memorable in their offering, I fear Laura’s Kitchen may similarly struggle.
So overall, while Laura’s Kitchen did the job, there is much better quality on offer in nearby places, so I’m not sure I’ll be back for another visit. Go give it a try and see what you think, but prepare to be underwhelmed.
