Petit Bleu

Occupying the site of the short-lived Express Burrito, on West Nicolson Street, I was intrigued by the arrival of Petit Bleu when I passed by a few weeks ago. I made a note to visit and made good on that on an overcast Wednesday.

The interior has been given a freshen and is now quite a charming cafe space where it was just a takeaway counter before.

Behind the counter was a familiar face, previously the proprietor at Cafe Bleu and Tea in the Park. He’s helping out a friend rather than this being his own operation, this time.

As with the menu at Tea in the Park, wraps were to the fore so in the spirit of #falafelquest I dived in with their hummus falafel wrap.

This was assembled to order then lightly toasted. It was soon with me looking quite elegant in its cross-hatching.

It proved very good eating with good flavour and a nicely tingling kick of spice. It hit the spot very nicely.

So overall, Petit Bleu looks an upgrade on what has gone before on this site with the wrap I sampled today of very pleasing quality. I look forward to visiting again and would recommend it to you next time you’re in these parts.
