So…

I haven’t quite got the hang of breakfasting in Aberdeen. I seem to spend an inordinate time wandering in search of places that turn out not to be open yet.

Exterior

After such a stroll around I eventually alighted upon So…in a highly accessible spot on Union Street.

With floor to ceiling windows this is a bright and well-appointed spot offering both sit-in and takeaway options. My previous meanderings meant that takeaway was my preferred route.

Sausages!

With #sausagequest in mind, I ordered a breakfast roll featuring link bangers. This had at its heart Donald Russell free range pork sausages. I was not previously acquainted with Mr Russell’s work but had a feeling that his mention probably meant they were taking things seriously.

I wish the same could be said for the roll in which the two plump porkers were encased. It was generic and not befitting such quality meat products.

Roll

The sausages were very good indeed so much kudos to Mr Russell and his piggies.

So overall, it was a slightly mixed bag from So…. Their sausages were very good and definitely one for #teamsausage players to note. However, don’t sample them in a roll as there’s much room for improvement on that score. Also, if you know Aberdeen better than me, where should I breakfast next time I’m in town?
