Word of Mouth

I’d visited the Word of Mouth cafe way back when and quite enjoyed it. I was intrigued when a slight change of strapline, from ‘Bistro and Cafe’ to ‘Bistro and Coffee Roastery’, appeared so popped in to see what was what.

Exterior

They are indeed now roasting their own coffee on the premises. They have a smart little roaster in full view.

The slight problem for me today was that the place was queued out the door as I’d stopped by during a busy Saturday brunch service.

Espresso

I was able to flag down a counter chap who set about making me an espresso (£1.70) to take away. This was soon with me.

I sipped as I walked. It was probably a little dark for my palette but it was still a well crafted cup. It was so much better than the Matthew Algie they used to serve.

Beans and bags

So overall, Word of Mouth is clearly doing excellent business and it’s good to see that they’ve upped their coffee game. Give it another visit if you haven’t popped in for a while as their coffee offering is well worthy of your attention.
