Where Banco traded and showed some initial promise, Cafe Grille has now taken over. With talk of homemade burger delights on the menu in the window, I popped in to give them a look.

The place is fairly simply appointed and has much the same feel as the previous place. It’s a comfortable cafe space.

From their menu, I chose the beef fajita burger which topped the burger with roasted peppers, onions, guacamole and fajita sauce. The item was cooked to order on the grill plate in their open kitchen, just behind the counter.

It arrived looking pretty smart and showing signs of being succulent and juicy. It proved really good eating, with a beefy burger and good combination of topping flavours and textures coming together for satisfying mouthfuls.

It put me in mind of the very good burgers at The Square.

So overall, I enjoyed my visit to Cafe Grille and wish it well in establishing itself over the coming months. They’re certainly delivering burgers of a quality that demands an appreciative audience. Give it a visit next time you’re in the neighbourhood.
