It was just another Manic-bacon-roll-in-Glasgow Monday, as the song goes. I toddled to Deli Central, just at the corner of Central Station, to pick up the necessary item.

Part of the station buildings, the interior is quite splendid with a remarkable ceiling. The cafeteria-style cafe they’ve plonked in the space doesn’t feel quite right, but there was certainly plenty to take in as I walked up to the counter to place my order.

Service was unfussy and quick, meaning I was soon on my way. I walked and ate.

The roll was fairly standard, but the bacon filling was thick cut and packed with flavour. I was very pleased with it.

What was less pleasing was the amount of brown sauce that ended up split down my coat, but that was just further evidence of my exceedingly messy eating habits.

So overall, I was pleased with Deli Central. In a smart spot it’s doing reliably tasty breakfast fare. It’s one to add to my regular cycle of city centre breakfast stop-offs.
