Zea

Given my great fondness for takeaway breakfasts on the go, I was rather surprised to discover that I hadn’t reviewed one of the nearby shops on my regular route. This was on oversight associated with having reviewed their Rose Street premises, now sadly closed, on a previous occasion I suspect.

Zea is a neat little shop on Haymarket Terrace, just along from Sandwich Culture. At the start of a rather manic Monday, I popped in for a feed.

The place has seating for around ten people across three tables, although their main business is done via takeaway. It’s a bright and simply appointed space.

The friendly counter woman was full of helpful questions and clarifications leading to me choosing a lorne sausage and scrambled egg roll. This was cooked to order and delivered in quick time.

Having toddled along the road and taken the required snapshots I tucked in. It proved a rather tasty eat. The multi-seed roll was nicely fresh and both filling elements packed good flavour. It was a simple but highly enjoyable way to start the day.

So overall, I was impressed with Zea. I have fond memories of their other place being a slightly madcap enterprise that I enjoyed visiting, so I’m pleased to see this shop maintaining a good level of quality. I’m sure I’ll be back for another visit, before long.
