It was a corking sunny Sunday, so there seemed little for it but to take a wander down the Water of Leith to Stockbridge market.

With rain having visited overnight, the river was flowing along at a considerable rate and entirely more vigorously than my Sunday stride was capable of matching.

Once my riverside stroll was complete, I did the usual wander round to see what was what, then settled upon Pasta with Love to provide my lunchtime sustenance.

I’d spoken with stallholder Robin at the launch of the Localmotive Market, the other day. He reflected upon a successful first day of business there, but that the emphasis for next time for him will be more on hot food around lunchtime, then takeaway pots for home cooking later in the day.

I sampled today’s meaty hot offering of slow-cooked Bolognese (£4.50) served with their delicious fresh pasta and topped with parmesan.

It was a lovely little pot of joy packed with lovely meaty and wine-infused flavour. The pasta was soft and delicate.

So, Pasta with Love provided a lovely little street food stop. I’d recommend a visit next you’re down at the market as you’ll be impressed with what they have on offer.
