MJ’s Verdict
And for my first appearance at the Festival(s) this year, I went to the List party, which doesn’t really count. But for my second try, I went to George Square with my friends Mel and Colin, who were staying with me this past weekend.
We were headed out for street food and Blythe was already ahead of us and had enjoyed some delicious thing or another.
After a quick wander through the Gardens, I decided to go for the burrito at Betty Goes to Mexico.
I opted for the one without the tortilla for some strange reason and ended up with a cardboard plate of lettuce, salsa, rice and beans and pork.
The rice and beans were fine, a little dull, but they did their job. The salsa on the other side was a bit too sweet and ketchuppy for my liking, and didn’t have that freshness you get from homemade salsa, but the star was the pork.
I attribute this to the fact that the servers were all wearing Well Hung and Tender shirts (nope, not a euphemism). It was well seasoned and cooked expertly.
I would have happily just had piles of that, but for the princely sum of £6, I don’t think I’ll venture back for it again.
