Our chosen spot, after passing the desolate remains of Mango Mayhem, where we’d dined previously, was the stalwart premises of the Indian Cottage.
Robbie had been there on that fateful Mayhem evening and joined again, today. This popular venue has played host to us on many an occasion, so it was with due familiarity with which we were greeted.
During the week, they offer a keenly priced three course deal for £14.99. This suited our needs very nicely.
I opened with an aloo saag dosa then followed with lamb chilli bhuna. Robbie opted for veggie pakora then the tandoori chicken tikka.Starters arrived promptly. My dosa wasn’t quite of the papery thin elegance of Tanjore, but the filling was packed with goodness. Accompanying daal was good, too.
Main courses were a step above, with the naan excellent, the rice light and fragrant and the meat dishes entirely satisfying. My lamb was deliciously tender. So overall, I was pleased to visit the Indian Cottage, again. When you’re in the neighbourhood, it’s one of the better dining options in Stirling’s city centre. I look forward to visiting again.
