Stir Coffee

The Edinburgh Coffee Lovers have done an excellent job in tracking down all the coffee pop-ups this Festival. One that they spotted would have completely eluded my attention so I was very pleased to read about Stir Coffee and intrigued to try it after it had been recommended so highly.

Showcasing Mission Coffee, the folks from Stir decided to bring their show on the road from their usual spot in Clerkenwell, not least because the owner’s girlfriend is appearing each day in a Fringe show.

Their pop-up is outside the Southside community centre which has been recast as the Zoo Venues for August. Just next to the front steps, the little coffee shed offers a little greenery-sheltered sanctuary which is remarkably peaceful considering how close it is to the main road.

I kept things simple with an espresso (£2). I had some reading to catch up on, so I sipped as I read.

It was an espresso of excellent balance. As an illustration of how much I enjoyed it, I ordered another to sip as I walked on to my next appointment.

So overall, I was extremely impressed with Stir Coffee. They nailed a top quality espresso in a surprisingly tranquil location. Make sure to visit this August.
