On the final Saturday of Fringe Festival hilarity, I found myself in need of late afternoon sustenance so popped along to the Tram Stop Market to try something new.

My eye was caught by the Thai Zaap, a van selling Thai classics like green curry, tom yam and pad Thai. I was in the mood for the latter, so ordered up a portion (£4) from the friendly and chatty stallholders.

This was cooked to order while I waited in the afternoon sunshine.

I noticed cards for Suree Thai, so guess there must be a link with that good Stockbridge Thai restaurant.

I was soon on my way, after topping things with chilli flakes and peanuts, eating as I walked.

It proved to be a satisfying eat. The noodles were soft and tasty. The other elements came together to offer crunch and nicely savoury flavour. The chicken could have been more tender, but it did the job very nicely.

So overall, I enjoyed my visit to Thai Zaap. It was a suitably filling treat. I look forward to giving their soups a try, next time I’m along at the market.
