It was a true stinker of a day, but with the Festival in full swing there was no question of hiding away. After a lovely interlude at the Book Festival, I headed towards the Stockbridge Market for sustenance.

I alighted upon Gusto, a pulled pork purveyor, not to be confused with the George Street Italian restaurant of the same name.

A wrap sounded like the kind of thing that would suit and the friendly stall-holder convinced me of the merits of the deluxe version (£5).

With item in hand, the immediate challenge was to find a sheltered spot where I could snap a photo or two, with a covered garage on India Place doing the job quite nicely. I was then able to tuck in.

Gravity had rendered the uppermost pork a little less juicy than the rest, but otherwise this was a very good and satisfying item. The pork had good flavour and the slaw packed suitable crunch. It wasn’t quite to the standard of the Shore Deli or Jones and Son’s Bespoke BBQ but it was still very pleasing.

So overall, I enjoyed my trip to Gusto. It addressed my hunger with considerable flair, providing a tasty and substantial lunchtime treat. Give it a whirl next time you’re along at the market.
