I’m a great fan of Lime having visited their Thistle Street branch many years ago and been wowed by their high value lunchtime deal. When in need of a filling breakfast in the west, once more, I headed to their Dundee Street branch to give it a try.

A little place focussed on takeout custom, there’s room for maybe half a dozen folks to sit in at shelf seating. I was running a little ahead of time, today, so took the opportunity for a relaxing start to the day. I ordered a tripler roll, featuring black pudding, bacon and egg along with an espresso. The bacon and black pudding were ready to go in chafing dishes while the egg was freshly fried to order.

The roll proved to be very good with the egg cooked very nicely, so the yolk had a little give but didn’t retain tie-destroying splatter potential. The black pudding was very good, too, and two tasty slices of bacon rounded things out most satisfyingly.

I still had the lingering effects of a weekend cold so decided to try one of their smoothies in a bid to stave off illness with fruit. The melon refresher combined melon, strawberry and grape and was really rather good.

So overall, I was well pleased with my stop at Lime. This branch served things to the same high standard as the branch in town, which was good to see. Their fare set me up very nicely for the day ahead. I’d be happy to recommend a visit.
