April 23, 2014 pizza, West 1 Comment

Circumstances in my evening social life have placed me in need of substantial sustenance beyond the regular opening times of sit-in restaurants. I hope this is a blip as reviews of late night pizza places, like the review of Pasha from the other day, leads only to fatness and poor sleep, so I’m officially getting out of that business before it takes hold.

While I’m here, though, I’ll pass on thoughts about Corner Pizza, on Polwarth Gardens. It’s a place I’d spotted on my walking travels but had never previously been passing when it was open. I was keen to give it a try.

The interior was quite well-worn but the warmth of welcome made up for these shortcomings. The friendly counter man was swiftly about his task once I’d placed my order for a 12″ meat feast.

In quick time I was on my way. I paused for artistically sombre photos of the pizza then munched as I walked.

It proved to be a tasty offering with the pepperoni and salami both very good. The base was crisp at points but a little doughier in others, so probably needed a little more even rolling, but it was still good.

So overall, Corner Pizza is a good option for takeaway pizza. Their pizzas come in sizes up to 16″, so will amply satisfy even the largest of appetites. I’d happily pop back again, though hopefully not at such an advanced hour as on this visit.
