In another in the short series of “places in Glasgow with the same name but no direct connection to places in Edinburgh” my western adventures took me to Cafe Hula on Hope Street, today.

As is so often the way this was a breakfast visit, but I had time in hand so was able to sit-in and relax. The interior is charmingly quirky with a highly entertaining angel of death looking over the middle of the room. I thought it was entertainingly strange.

I was in the mood for eggs so went up to the counter and ordered a plate of scrambled eggs with black pudding and toast from the friendly counter man.

It promptly arrived looking hearty and wholesome. The toast looked particularly good. The eggs were nicely seasoned and decently prepared. The black pudding pieces were tasty. It was a dish with which I was pleased.

So overall, Glasgow’s Hula lacks some of the magic of its Edinburgh cousin, but is still doing good work. I really liked the interior decor, would be happy to eat there again and would recommend it to you for a visit.
