I’d wandered past Bonnington Brunch loads of times on my travels, but never quite timed it right to avail myself of its services. Today was the day, though, as after four hours of early morning walking, I was in need of some sustenance.

Serving an array of breakfast and lunch items throughout the day, from their simple counter, I was drawn in by their haggis roll. I’ve been going through quite a haggis-heavy phase, recently.

Served on a soft morning roll, and topped with fruity brown sauce, as per my request, the freshly prepared roll was soon with me, delivered with a smile and a kind word from the counter women.

The roll wasn’t the bonniest, as it was a little on the squashed side, but it tasted considerably better than it looked.

The piping-hot haggis had a lovely peppery kick to it, and the sauce was fruity and piquant. They came together very well, with the soft roll doing its job admirably, too.

So overall, I was pleased with what Bonnington Brunch served me. It struck me as a potential life-saver, hangover-buster of a place, which is likely much loved by nearby residents. I’d happily pop back, next time I’m in the neighbourhood.
