November 1, 2012 pizza, Take Away, West End No Comments

No1 Kebab used to be a regular stop off place for me on a Friday night, for post-pub grub following in-depth discussions of matters to state to conclude the working week.

Exterior

I’m less in the habit of Friday night drinking, these days, but do occasionally swing past after an evening out, on the rare occasions when the evening doesn’t comprise a visit to a restaurant, and I’m in need of a late-night feed.

The place is fairly understated, with no frills to their shop-front or counter. It tends to be populated with a few late-night revellers, as so it proved to be, this evening.

Pepperoni and mushroom is my go-to pizza topping combination, and I wasn’t in the frame of mind to overthink things, this evening, so that’s what I opted to order.

Pizza

Having toddled the short walk back to my humble abode, I tucked in to the melty cheese delight. These pizzas don’t tend to look the prettiest, but the flavour from the topping hit the spot, very nicely. As with most takeout places, the pizza base was of the doughy variety, but I have an appreciation for that style.

So, I quite enjoyed my visit to No1 Kebab. For late night takeout pizza, I think it’s one of the better places, so if you’re on the West End/Haymarket side of town and in need of the kind of the culinary comfort that only pizza can provide, this place should fit your requirements, pretty neatly.
