Strada Cafe

With an hour to kill before my museum of choice for the day opened, I guessed that coffee and breakfast would be a decent idea. After a little wander, I alighted upon Strada Cafe on Rue du Temple. It looked promising so I popped in.

Set up for in a familiar style well suited to sippers with laptops, I ordered an espresso and took a seat to see what their food offering held.

It was slightly more expansive than the usual toast and croissant places with some set options including omelettes and a sense that they were catering for folks looking for a fairly substantial start to the day.

I opted for their avocado toast which soon arrived looking quite splendid. Three thin slices of rye toast were generously topped with cream cheese and avocado. This made for good eating and the accompanying salad was very good, too. I liked it a lot.

Their espresso was very good, too, so much so that I had a second.

Overall, Strada was a handy find. It covered a lot of bases with their well-considered menu and served coffee to a very pleasing standard. I’d be happy to return to this friendly spot next time I’m in town.
