West Port Coffee

I was sad when Cafe Bleu closed on West Port but owner Alex has subsequently appeared in a couple of other places ensuring his talents remain in the city.

Taking over the site is a smart little place called West Port Coffee. I’d popped in briefly previously and established that it is run by the wife of a chap I know from his days behind the counter at Number 1 Kebab serving me many late night pizzas.

Since that brief visit, they’ve remodelled the interior moving the main counter to the rear. This allows for a more spacious and relaxed feel to the place.

I was simply looking for a quick wrap on the go so when I spotted a hummus, falafel and grilled veg one on offer I jumped at the chance to extend my #falafelquest coverage.

This was prepped to order and soon with me. I munched as I walked.

It was very much in the flat but flavourful style of the ones I’ve sampled on the premises previously. The grilled veg were notably good and there was plenty of sesame goodness from the other elements. The wrap casing was suitably crisp.

So overall, I enjoyed my trip to West Port Coffee. It’s a good wee place and worth a look next time you’re in the neighbourhood and looking for a quick bite. I liked what I had and look forward to returning.
