Konbo Arcade Cafe
My method for selecting where to review still largely revolves around me wandering around the place and falling over the threshold of somewhere or other when hunger reaches critical levels. In this fashion I recently stumbled upon the Konbo Arcade Cafe on Gilmore Place.
Having opened a couple of months ago, their existence had not previously registered with me.
Showcasing classic arcade machine and other elements of Japanese culture, it’s a simple but smartly appointed cafe with real charm.
Coffee is from Artisan Roast. I ordered an espresso and it was delivered to a very good standard.
Their food offering has cheese toasties to the fore. I chose their classic version which showcased a two-cheese blend on sourdough bread.
This was prepared to order and soon with me. It was very good, too, and really hit the spot.
So overall, the Konbo Arcade Cafe is a really appealing new place. If you’re into your gaming or a fan of Japanese culture this will be right up your street. I’m not especially either of those things but I still found it really impressive so it packs a broad appeal. I look forward to future visits when I will need to give one of their instant udon noodle pots a go.
