Saturday night after a lengthy week of work and play made the takeaway menus sing to me in compelling fashion. I’d long been meaning to try Shapla on Easter Road so took the opportunity to do so.
I was joined again by my sister Anne who most recently joined for takeaway from Taste of China.
We ordered to a fairly familiar pattern. I’m a great fan of prawn puri to start so tried their version, then added chicken and lamb curries, rice, naan and some saag paneer. It came to £28.05 in total.
Delivery was very prompt and we were soon tucking in following the inevitable photo shoot.
All the dishes were delivered to a very good standard. The prawn puri was particularly good and one of the best I’ve had of late.
The curries – a Persian chicken tikka and a lamb channa – were really satisfying and the rice and naan were solidly decent, too. We were impressed.
So overall, it was good to finally sample the delicious wares from Shapla. They’e doing very good work and I’d be glad to order from them again. Next time you’re looking for a top notch Indian takeaway give them a shout.
