On a dreich Saturday morning there was mundane shopping and routine errands to run, so I thought it best to fortify myself against those trials with a hearty breakfast. I toddled to Snax Corner at the top of Dalry Road.
No relation to the other cafes called Snax, as far as I could discern, it’s a pretty regulation greasy spoon and a bit rough around the edges.
My needs were simple so all I had to do was choose between their all day breakfast, their traditional breakfast (less items but more of them – 2 sausages, 2 eggs etc), or the veggie breakfast. I chose option number one. I added some strong tea as seemed fitting.
The breakfast was cooked to order and arrived within expected timescales.
The egg had been badly butchered, but most of the rest was decent. The bacon was scraps not rashers. The hash brown had been well crisped and the mushrooms were good. The sausage, beans and tattie scone were fine.
So overall, Snax Corner did the job, but was a bit below expected standards. Gorgie Road has a couple of better options for this type of thing so next time I’ll probably wander on there rather than stopping again at Snax Corner.
