Review of the Year – June 2016

While June held some good moments, it contained three of the year’s real culinary low points.

I thought Badger & Co. required a complete rethink. Their food was dreadfully dull. But many people enjoyed the review as it was the most popular of the month. BRGR was similarly pish with their plastic cheese and dreadful poutine lingering long in the memory.

More comedically awful was Dino’s which is the city’s current finest tourist trap. Their sexist toilet signage was the cherry on the top of a meal that was entirely charmless.

In better news, I enjoyed the street food charms of Out of the Box and Grumpy, while Graham Cherrie’s provided delicious pies and Belly Buster very good burgers.

Nok’s Kitchen and Ostara were full of good scran, as were Grams and The Ox. Gannet & Guga arrived with its excellent sandwiches and Wildmanwood brought yet another fantastic pizza option to the city.

Our Beer Man got out of the city limits for a trip to The Goth, while I went even further afield for a fantastic lunch at the Royal Oak at Bishopstone. The was the highlight of an excellent month.
