Nanna Flo’s Bakery
Morrison’s Bakery has been through various different guises down the years and my previous review highlights some of the exploits I’ve enjoyed while supping on their baked goods.
The latest owners have changed the name in honour of their gran, so it was to Nanna Flo’s Bakery that I made my first trip, just recently.
I’ve actually visited on quite a few occasions since then as one massive improvement over the previous owners is that opening hours seem to be much more regular and reliable. It has been open most nights that I’ve wandered past in need of a late-night snack.
Across my visits I’ve sampled their macaroni pie, steak pie, scotch pie and sausage roll (£2 per item).
I’ve been impressed with the steak pie particularly and the scotch pie features meat that actually looks like a tasty thing rather than grey death.
The macaroni has been routinely good although the seasoning could be a little brighter. The sausage roll is a consistent winner.
So overall, Nanna Flo’s Bakery looks set to take care of many of my late night pennies. I’d recommend it to you as it’s serving good quality baked goods with their pies deeply satisfying.
