It’s good to get off my regular track, from time to time, particularly when it’s early in the day so I can give a place’s breakfast goods a look. Such was the case with my visit to Cafe Yummy near the hallowed turf of Goldenacre.
Right next door to Cafe Montagu, Yummy has been trading since 2006 and serves a simple menu of all-day breakfast choices and a standard selection of soups and sandwiches.
As suggested my target was the breakfast stuff, so I ordered a bacon and egg roll. The jolly counter man was quickly about the task, enquiring whether I’d like my yolk runny or firm. I opted for the former safe in the knowledge that my current face hedge was up to the task of dealing with even the most explosive yolkage.
With item in hand I was on my way, walking as I ate.
The yolk did indeed prove bursting with colour and collateral beard damage. It was a beautifully fresh egg. The morning roll was decent and the bacon did its job making for an enjoyable breakfasting interlude.
So overall, I was pleased to visit Cafe Yummy and find it on such good form. Their breakfast rolls are prepared with good care and attention and delivered to a very acceptable standard. I’d be happy to visit again next time I’m in these parts.
