Back to Black
Aimless wandering once more proved fruitful in discovering a new and interesting place on a recent visit to Glasgow. Popping up during the day at Broadcast on Sauchiehall Street, Back to Black is a events and pop-up coffee stall, focussing on coffee and cakes as their core offering.
Founder James is a familiar face from the Glasgow coffee scene. I’ve run into him many times behind the stick at Lab Espresso.
I was in need of something breakfasty so was pleased to see a granola bar as one of their options. It still amounted to cake for breakfast which isn’t really my thing, but it worked out rather well.
Today’s coffee was from Colonna and it was first rate. It was really nicely balanced and served it very smart glassware.
James is doing all the baking, at least for now, and the granola bar was every bit as good as the coffee. I was impressed.
So overall, Back to Black is a great little pop-up coffee purveyor. I was very pleased with both the coffee and the cake so would heartily recommend a visit. I’m confident you will enjoy it.
