Edinburgh Food Social Kickstarter
There are few things we enjoy more that bludgeoning our readership into backing a commendable crowdfunder so we’re glad to be back on the trail with the recently launched Edinburgh Food Social campaign.
From the folks behind the outstanding Edinburgh Larder, the Food Social is all about promoting positive food messages with young people through direct interactions with schools and communities.
Working with other excellent initiatives like the Business in the Community Scotland’s Food for Thought Programme, the Leith Food Assembly, the work has already realised some promising results, particular in work with local school St Thomas of Aquin’s.
The ask from this crowdfunder is £10-15k which will mainly go towards acquiring a food truck which can swoop in to replace the current hiring arrangements that are unduly draining valuable resources.
We’ve already put our money where our mouth is backing the project to the tune of a tenner for which we’ll get the reward of some lovely recipe cards. A range of other superb rewards are on offer to backers.
So make sure to take some time out of your day to click on the link, read all about the project, watch the videos, then see what you want to do to support them. If money is tight, at least share the message with your friends. If you’re in a position to make a financial contribution, consider how generous you can be. Together we can put together our collective will and resources to make it a success.
