I’m becoming a veritable expert on the cuisine of Craigmillar following visits to the White House, Margaret’s and the Full Stop in recent weeks. Today’s visit saw me pop in to Wee Bite, a little Polish cafe.
With a menu bringing together more routine breakfast and lunch options with a selection of Polish dishes, I was sad not to have more time to sit in and order something from the latter selection.
Alas, I was in a rush so was just in the market for a quick wrap. I didn’t really know what to order so asked for advice. The friendly counter man suggested a chicken salad wrap which sounded fine to me.
Rather than just loading things up from the deli counter, a piece of marinated chicken appeared from the back and was cooked to order on their grill plate. Once ready, salad items were added then it was lightly toasted on the sandwich press.
I munched as I walked, successfully spilling just enough of it down me to completely ruin another shirt.
It proved really satisfying eating with the chicken packed with flavour and really very impressive. The wrap casing could have been toasted for a few moments more but this was a minor quibble with what was a highly enjoyable eat.
So overall, Wee Bite maintained Craigmillar’s impressive showing so far with a very tasty wrap that really hit the spot. Make sure to call in next time you’re looking for a quite bite on the go.
