The Food Stop

It has been good to renew acquaintances with the Glasgow bacon roll scene in recent times, with trips to the Kothel Grill House and Madison’s, amongst others.

I was again in the Merchant City on a breakfast run so stopped at The Food Stop, which sounded like an appropriate place for my needs.

A pretty humble cafe space, their emphasis is on quick and inexpensive takeaway options.

I ordered a bacon and black pudding roll. This was with me straight away, with items taken from chafing dishes, then topped with brown sauce as per my usual requirement.

I munched as I walked. As is routinely the case, the morning roll – I’d chosen soft over crisp on this occasion – was excellent and the filling was pretty good, too, with nicely crisped bacon fat.

So overall, The Food Stop looks to be a reliable place for a quick and cheap breakfast roll. It served my needs very nicely and I’d be happy to visit again.
