Charing Cross Coffee
On a chilly morning in Glasgow, I took a brisk, reviving walk along Sauchiehall Street eventually alighting upon Charing Cross Coffee. I popped in for a quick breakfast feed.
I had just enough time to sit-in and keep out of the cold, which was very welcome.
The interior is a slightly awkward, narrow space but it’s quite smartly decked out. There’s room for about ten seats.
My requirements were simple: breakfast roll plus coffee. I opted for a bacon and black pudding doubler and a dark roast espresso.
The coffee was nowt too remarkable, but the roll was really pretty good. It was fresh, lightly crisp and the filling was hot, tasty and plentiful. It set me up nicely for the day ahead.
So overall, Charing Street Coffee is doing a fine line in breakfast rolls. I’m not sure that coffee is really their focus, but otherwise I’d be happy to visit again for a good value breakfast.
