Beirut Express

Sometimes you don’t see the wood for the trees. While Beirut remains a stalwart favourite, despite the one shite time MJ visited, I hadn’t quite clocked that it had added a little takeout shop, right next door to their restaurant mothership. I popped in for a gander.

It was lunchtime so my requirements were simple and my eye was caught by their mixed shawarma wrap. The counter man had good patter which meant we reached a conclusion without too much fuss.

He packed one of the baked flatbreads with lamby, chickeny goodness, took a moment to assess the sauce requirements, then folded it carefully and baked it on the grill.

The resulting effect was extremely pleasing with a burstingly loaded set of meaty sensations. I ended up covered in all the sauce combos but that was an expected negative consequence.

So overall, Beirut Express is doing a very good job. I really enjoyed my wrap as it was flavour packed and deeply satisfying. Add it to your list for a lunchtime visit.
