BLT burger from Jones & Son
By the time June was over, we’d had as many outstanding meals, summarised in our Top in 2015 list
, as we had in the entirety of 2014, which was quite something.
Jones & Son turned their hand to burgers in a pop-up stall at Boxsmall. They were absolutely tremendous. There was more five-star street food from Susie’s Whole Foods, where Scratch Series’ David Crabtree Logan did some fine work.
Beer in Rome
There were highly enjoyable visits to Spitaki
, the refurbished Giovanni’s
, Archipelago Bakery’s
new premises, and to BBL
for their wagyu/angus burger.
Most popular review of the month was the Stage Door Cafe Bistro in Dunfermline, which was an absolute revelation.
MJ and I had a holiday to Rome, so naturally we checked out what the local eateries had to offer. We had a lot of fun. I also popped to London for the Foodie Hub Global Awards.
Scott’s Fried Chicken wasn’t great, and the poutine at Burger. was ghastly, but June was all-in-all another fabulous month.
