July was a slightly mixed month, but there were a number of real gems. Filament was the outstanding coffee experience of the month and became a regular place we visited over the following months.

Other very good experiences included at La Petite Mort, Mam Kangu’s Delicacy, Ophelia Mar, Mhor 84, Ichiban, and Himalaya.

Nova Pizza – Vegetarian Kitchen was a very interesting new addition, with an informal Italian cafe serving an entirely vegetarian menu. We enjoyed our visit.

Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Cafe was one of the most memorable meals of the year, with great ingredients turned into excellent dishes accompanied by a very strong drinks list.

On the downside, Glasgow’s Create Cafe was a terrible idea, and Edinburgh Coffee Cake was pretty underwhelming.

The most popular review of the month was the dreadful BHS cafe, which is best avoided. But everyone seems to enjoy reading these cautionary tales.
