Festival month! August saw our emphasis shift to the many temporary food options that appear to support the influx of artists and tourists.

The pick of this year’s crop were Soul Sushi at C-Nova, Artisan Roast’s Holy Garage and Stir Coffee, all of which were excellent.

Lowlights were the Dirty Dug and Rupy’s Curry, both of which were hopelessly poor.

Of the permanently trading places we visited in between, Restaurant Martin Wishart was excellent, and Barnacles & Bones (our busiest review of the month) was superb. New street food trader Flat Out was really good, too.

And August saw the publication of our fourth annual guide, which is always a big landmark in our year. This year’s format change seems to have been met with broad approval, which is good news.
