We have a bonus guest post, today, from new quester Erin who had a little adventure with the folks at the Corstorphine branch of Domino’s.
The typical Tuesday late night “what will I have to eat tonight?” sort of thing happened to me the other night and I wish I had chosen my solution a bit more wisely.
I remembered I received an updated Domino’s pizza menu with attached vouchers a few days ago, so decided to use the voucher stating £19.99 for a large pizza, two sides and two juices. I decided to go and collect it myself.
Despite there only being one couple in front of me, it took me around 8 minutes to finally get served due to only one person being at the front counter to serve and answer any phone calls. Eventually I was asked what I would like to order and I showed the staff member that I had my £19.99 voucher. I got the response “that’s only for delivery”.
I was unsure as to why any voucher would be different whether it was delivered or collected. However I questioned this as it did not state anywhere clearly or in the small print that it was for collection only. He was, however, adamant that you could not collect this deal.
Therefore I picked up the menu with the terms and conditions on so I could find this out for myself and accept fault if that was the case. The terms & conditions did in fact say “collection or delivery”. I pointed this out to him and he rudely walked away and mumbled what sounded like “I’ll ask my manager”. He returned several minutes later and said “I can do this for you”.
I continued to place my order then waited around 15 minutes. I noticed my order sitting on the shelves ready to be served at the back for a good few minutes before it was handed to me.
I travelled home which only took around 5 minutes, opened my boxes and tasted my pizza which had a below average amount of tandoori chicken topping, then tasted a chicken kicker which was very hot but enjoyable once cooled slightly. Then I bit into one of my hard, cold, tasteless potato wedges. They were an unhappy mix of either over cooked or barely cooked at all.
Overall, this Domino’s in Corstorphine was very poor, both in terms of service and standard of food. I certainly will not be visiting there again.
