Central to their offering is, as you might expect, the coffee. It comes from Roast Central, a new up-and-coming local roaster. I wasn’t convinced by it. It was in the realms of interesting rather than compellingly good.
I gave it another go, a couple of weeks later, and I remain firmly on the fence.
They source their focussed food selection from all the right places with soups and salads from Union of Genius and baking from Archipelago. With Archipelago currently moving premises, the flapjack I sampled was from Rosy Cheeks. I was highly impressed with this very tasty item.
So overall, while I like Cobolt’s schtick and their choice of suppliers, I think their coffee could be improved. I’ll definitely pop back, though, and it’s certainly worth checking out next time you’re in this neighbourhood.
