I visited, today, with a simple lunchtime takeaway foremost in my thoughts. I alighted upon Cafe Arabicana, which looked a likely spot.
Having opened just a matter of weeks ago, the place has a good fresh feel to it, with smiling and prompt service. It’s ploughing familiar territory with falafel wraps and various other light Mediterranean options. Their falafel wrap with baba ghanoush and aubergine sounded good to me, so I opted for that.Once the various elements had been assembled, then the wrap lightly toasted, I was on my way. I ate as I walked.
It was a massive and generously packed item. The falafel were nicely nutty and the baba ghanoush brought required moisture. The only major weakness was that the wrap really needed toasted for a minute or two longer, both to crisp the casing, but also to heat things through more evenly. So overall, if you’re looking for a large, tasty lunchtime wrap, Cafe Arabicana is one to add to your list. What they’re serving is really rather good. I’d be happy to pop back for another visit.
