Run by a chap who used to run the kitchen at the Traverse Theatre Bar, the brightly appointed box stocks Union of Genius soups alongside cakes made by the owner’s hand. I’m not usually a cake fan, but the cookies did look tempting so I added one to my order of espresso.
The coffee is another bespoke blend from Mr Eion. It was absolutely first rate and one of the best of his that I’ve tasted in the city. It rightly earns a place in the Espresso Quest exceptionals. The cookie was also very good indeed, with just the right amount of crunch and chew. I was very pleased with it.
So overall, I was glad to have finally made it to The Counter. It’s an excellent addition to our range of police box eateries. It’s worth a wee wander to this neighbourhood to try the delicious coffee and cakes. You’ll be impressed, I’m sure.Scores
