The late night pizza trail is a December staple and I am not immune from its charms. After a recent trip to Topkapi, I added Cappadocia to my list of Turkish place name takeaways.

Back in the days of my youth, I used to frequent this establishment on an almost weekly basis, as it consistently delivered a really good quality pizza. The world has moved on since then, but I still pop in from time to time.

This visit was following on from the Scran Salon Xmas party, a few weeks ago. I ran into Amy from Union of Genius (which is just next door). We’d both enjoyed a suitably festive evening.

As is my usual preference, I opted for pepperoni and mushroom as my topping. The friendly counter folks were swiftly about preparing this. Once I had bid Amy adieu and left her to hammer out the recipe details for chips n cheese soup, I munched as I walked.

It proved to be a rather good pizza with generous topping and good tomato sauce. I’ve had ones with a crisper base, but this worked nicely for folding and shoving faceward, which was very much the tactic of choice. I was pleased with it.

So overall, I enjoyed my visit to Cappadocia. It’s a good, reliable late night place. I’ve had better pizzas than they served me, tonight, but this was still a tasty treat. I’ll no doubt be back and will be happy to continue ordering the same item.
