Elephant & Bagels

Alison House was the scene of the odd enjoyable evening in my student days, spent educating budding orchestral conductors that the real balance of power resided with people like the lead trumpet or principal oboe player, rather than with the violins or (heaven forbid) the neatly dressed baton-twirler.

Just across the way sits Elephant & Bagels, which as the name suggests is a purveyor of bagel treats. I visited with a simple set of requirements in my head: bagel and soup.

Soup

Soup

With an extensively comprehensive array of styles, I alighted upon a wholemeal bagel with which I requested their filling of the week, pesto chicken and mozzarella.

The soup was tomato and basil. It was a reliably good effort.

The bagel was very good, although it was unusual to see the cheese being melted to molten runny-ness in the microwave prior to it topping the chicken.

So overall, I was quite impressed by Elephant & Bagels. It served me a tasty bagel and pretty good soup, in smart surroundings. I’d be comfortable pointing you in the direction of place.
