After taking care of the final batch of Christmas parcel posting, I had just enough time to catch a quick breakfast before the working day started in earnest. I chose the Wee Coffee Bar as today’s supplier of bacon roll goodness.

I’d visited in its previous incarnation as All Good Coffee, for espresso tasting purposes, but hadn’t tried their food. Their espresso is by Illy, which isn’t a favourite, but they remain one of the better purveyors in the city, if that’s a bean that meets with your approval.

The counter women were both extremely friendly, and worked efficiently to prepare my breakfast roll. Bacon was freshly cooked to order, while I sipped coffee and took in the surroundings.

The place has room for around a dozen or more to sit in, and has a quirky charm that was accented by some well-placed festive decorations.

With bacon cooked, brown sauce applied, and my roll bagged up, I was on my way along the road, eating as I walked.

A lovely fresh morning roll encased a generous portion of back bacon, with a nicely judged amount of sauce adding just the right amount of required fruitiness. It was a simple, but highly enjoyable roll, which provided me with a delectable start to the day.

So overall, I was pleased with the Wee Coffee Bar. I spotted some rather tasty looking lunchtime sandwiches being prepared, too, so must make a note to try and pop in towards the middle of the day, some time soon, to try their lunch offering.
