When a thumping Festival hangover comes calling, there’s nothing for it, but to head for an agreeably quiet cafe, order something putatively restorative, and attempt to deal with reality, anew.
Coffee Mavi was my venue of choice, on this occasion, with scrambled eggs, toast, latte and water my instruments of Lazarusian breakfast.
They have just a couple of tables in the compact little premises. The chap behind the counter was quickly to work, first bringing coffee, then a good portion of eggs, with four triangles of well-buttered toast.
This was simple stuff, but nicely done. The eggs had a good softness to them, and they were nicely seasoned. The coffee was solidly decent.
I left with spirit and body on the road to replenishment, and for the meagre sum of £3.50, my wallet was very lightly treated.
So, for straightforward breakfast fare, I really enjoyed what Coffee Mavi offered. Next time you’re passing, do pop in.

Their Full Scottish Breakfast is under a fiver and is spectacular!
The guy that runs it is very very friendly.
A truly perfect place for a hangover!
Agreed, Ian
